About K.O.B. Clothing
The idea to adorn children's hand smocked clothing with official school logos was the inspiration of Kristen Blankenbecler. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Kristen was interested in dressing her two girls in smocked clothing with the Tennessee logo. Unable to find anything available, Kristen decided to create a new line of hand smocked clothing with collegiate logos. Using her contacts at the Atlanta Apparel Mart, Kristen approached Vive La Fete about the idea. Vive La Fete, which has been in business for 20 years, is the leading manufacturer of hand smocked children's apparel and The Vive La Fete brand and strong manufacturing expertise are the standard in the children's clothing marketing. Kristen impressed upon Vive La Fete the potential of this line and the importance of officially licensed school logos. The owner of Vive La Fete, Miguel Lecayo (who is a graduate of Georgia Tech) agreed to provide the hand smocking and manufacturing expertise and Kristen would handle the licensing work with the Collegiate Licensing Company and would become the exclusive Sales Agent for the new Vive La Fete- Collegiate Line. K.O. B Clothing was formed in 2007 and we introduced the line in 2008.
In 2013, K.O.B. Clothing added the officially licensed Elf on the Shelf children’s clothing line. The line a variety of styles in hand smocked, embroidery and applique for boys and girls. In 2014, we’ve again partnered with Vive la Fete as the manufacturer of this line.
